Back to the same old problems, except worse. Where's the choice?
From 1200 to 4000 out of pocket expense on the other policy - with a co-payment. Monthly co-payment. With no idea where the money for co-payment are made available.
That means that you have to sign up without knowing what the coverage covers on your medications. If you go with a plan that is covering your pharmacy. If you drop your usual pharmacy and go with a different pharmacy, (Wal-Mart) you can still keep Aetna.
So, what did I do?
I signed up for mail order! It was complicated and I had to give the Aetna people my Prescriptions and online information for billing. Now I'm all set!
Don't have to pay more! Don't have to change policy. The doctor OK's the meds every 90 days instead of every month. Cool!
The deal is done. Now- the question is- whether or not they knew this before? I say they planned it.
I believe that they knew we would not be ABLE TO KEEP OUR PHARMACY WITHOUT CHANGING POLICIES AND PAYING MORE OUT OF POCKET EXPENSES.
The pharmacy can't tell you what the cost for your meds is going to be until you switch policies. Estimations vary. But primarily more expensive. Then things get complicated with other payers that cover extra costs. Whether you have them or not. If you don't the new out of pocket expense seems to be a lot higher than before.
What are people going to do if Aetna drops Wal-Mart? And you can't afford 4000 dollars out of your 8000 dollar Social Security check every year?
Are there any plans to protect people if that happens? So were right back to where we started from. Except worse. And whatever progress we made is now destroyed by Obama Care.
There is no way I can afford to pay that much out of pocket expense for medications that I need to stay alive.
And at the same time a small percentage of middle class Americans have gotten a very small amount of relief on medical expenses while a great amount of people in the middle class have more to pay than before. Less protection with more of a guarantee of unprotected care for more money. Great.
Prescription drug plans are not mandatory.
What's going to keep you alive? A mandatory insurance policy that covers less for more money? Or a prescription plan that is necessary for you to be able to purchase drugs necessary for you to live?
I guess that's another thing they didn't read about in the Affordable Death Care Plan.
