The Hyde Amendment is a regulation that prohibits the government paying for abortions through aid programs, such as Medicaid- Welfare.
It does not govern whether an insurance provider carries the coverage on their policy. Because of that loophole, it is not clear as to whether or not it will prohibit abortion coverage on exchange policies.
Seemingly, the amendment needs to be modified to include Medicaid coverage under Obamacare (ACA) and ordered to cover the exchange policies that will allow for abortions if the policies are subsidized by the government.
Right now, the Obama administration is not saying what will be covered. They are telling their supporters that it is ultimately up to the states to decide whether the coverage is acceptable in their state. That of course is unconstitutional.
As soon as the first abortion is preformed under Obamacare and it is paid for with subsidized
policies in the exchange or on Medicaid, the courts will hear about it.
It seems, that for now, the Obama administration has weaseled their way around the only regulation prohibiting abortions being paid for by the federal government, especially in lower income circumstances.
If the Democrat Liberals can have their way, abortions will be the primary form of birth control under Obamacare. The cost covered now is up to three thousand dollars a month.
I don't know if three thousand would cover abortions or not. In the Emergency room, I mean.
